Best Skin Care Routine & Tips for Teenagers
Teen years can be aptly described in these words – waking up to a new problem every day. Your crush leaving you on read, you forgetting to complete an assignment, or dealing with a new pimple. It’s a struggle, we know honey. While we can only wish you luck for the first two, the last concern happens to be our area of expertise. Ask your parents or elder siblings about their skin during their teen years and most likely, their answer will be – horrible. So, know that you are not alone in this battle!
During these years as your limbs and arms and mustaches are growing out, your hormones are fluctuating too. This usually leads to very oily skin, acne, blackheads, and a lot more. But, fear you not, because below is a simple skincare routine that will help you breeze through these ‘bad skin years.’
Ultimate 4-step teen skincare routine
Step 1: Cleanse
This is obvious, but we take it for granted. Every morning and before you sleep, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser to get rid of dirt, grease and impurities on your face. Do not hurry this step. Massage your face and neck for 1 minute before washing it off. And whatever happens in life, NEVER aggressively rub your face while washing it. You will only worsen the problem.
If you have very oily skin and acne-prone skin, use our Chialeader Shine Control Gel Face Wash to get rid of excess oil and shine.
If your skin is dry and dull, our Bravocado Pollution Rescue Cream Face Wash is perfect to soften and brighten it.

Step 2: Tone
Toners are skincare superheroes. They do so much for your skin – minimize pore size, reduce acne, brighten skin, control excess sebum, and maintain skin’s pH balance. No matter what your skin type – oily, dry or combination using a toner every day in the AM and PM will eventually give you better and healthier skin. Take some product in a cotton pad or on your fingers and pat it into skin until fully absorbed.
Use our Matcha Better Pore Clearing Skin Tonic if you have acne-prone and oily skin. This works best for people who have blackheads and whiteheads.
For all other skin types, try our Yuzu Fine Vitamin C Brightening Toner for unlocking brighter and even-toned skin.
Step 3: Moisturize
ALL, we mean all skin types must use a moisturizer. Don’t think you need one because you have oily skin? Urm, no dear. Your skin actually needs it the most, because only then your skin will stop overproducing oil. Using a moisturizer = hydrated skin = less oil. Remember this simple equation for life. That being said, moisture does wonders for people with dry and combination skin by drenching it in moisture. So, at the end of the day, everyone’s winning.
For the oily and acne-prone lads, our Chialeader Oil Control Moisturizer is the best. It has a gel-textured, refreshing formula that hydrates skin without making it greasy.
The Mon Cherry Ultra Light Moisturizing Gel is a star for people with dry, combination and sensitive skin. It not only hydrates but also makes skin dewy soft.

Step 4: Protect
Spoiler Alert: if you skip this step, none of the above will make a difference. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen is non-negotiable. In fact, the sooner you start, the better. Teen years are all about being out and about, soaking in the sun and having fun! Do it without any worry of tanning, sunburn, and UV damage by liberally applying sunscreen to all the exposed parts of your body. Apply it every day in the AM, even if you are indoors!
Our Bravocado SPF 50+ PA++++ Sunscreen Gel is ultra-lightweight, non-oily, and non-sticky that keeps skin fresh all day.
Here are a few more skincare tips for teenagers to follow.
- Drink enough water and keep yourself hydrated.
- Do not fret if you’re struggling with acne, dark spots or any other skin issue. It is common during teenage years and with time and proper skincare, you will be able to overcome them.
- If you have active and inflamed acne, apply our Mama Cica Zit Away Treatment Patches on them, and leave overnight. Repeat as necessary.
- Exfoliate your face and neck once in a week with Yuzu Fine 2-In-1 Vitamin C Scrub And Clay Mask that exfoliates and gives you a fresh, radiant complexion.
- Give your skin a mini facial with our cute-looking Bravocado Brightening Under Eye Hydrogel Mask for well-rested eyes. And put on our Mon Cherry Sheet Mask For Bright And Clear Skin for glass-like skin!
- The ideal time to start using skincare products is by 13-15 years. This is when puberty hits and your body undergoes a lot of changes.
- Whatever you do, never pop a pimple. It might be oddly satisfying to do that, but it will only worsen your acne.
