This superfood will transform your skin....know more
We all know avocado as this amazing superfruit that tastes great in our smoothies and guacamole. This green, creamy, yummy fruit is not just great for your health, but it is also brimming with stuff that’s not just great for your health, but also for your skin! So let’s take a deep dive into this amazing exotic fruit and see how it can turn your skin into the soft, supple, clear skin of your dreams!
1) Anti-ageing hero
Avocado is extremely nourishing, thanks to its high content of Vitamin E, making it so amazing for the skin. It plumps up the skin, decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, it is chock full of chlorophyll, the plant compound that gives it the lovely minty green colour. This pigment treats skin a similar way tretinoin does – minus the irritation! It reverses signs of sun damage like age spots and discolouration, leaving behind clear skin. It also contains beta carotene, an antioxidant rich compound which defends the skin against UV radiation and helps maintain skin health.
2) Fights acne
This green superhero contains anti-inflammatory oleic acid that reduces redness, stimulates healing and repairs broken skin. It penetrates deeply and locks in moisture, which aids in faster healing of lesions. It also balances the skin’s pH levels, making it less prone to breakouts. The rich niacinamide content also regulates oil and prevents them from going into overdrive, preventing acne. This, coupled with vitamin C, prevents free radical damage as well. It also contains lauric acid which has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties!
3) Deeply moisturizes
This one should come as no surprise! Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids which make it a great skin conditioner. Moreover, it is filled with essential vitamins like A, B6, C, D and E which make it a powerhouse of hydration for dry and mature skin. It also contains pantothenic acid that softens the skin and keeps it smooth and supple.
4) Strengthens skin barrier
Owing to its rich content of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, this fruit makes for excellent barrier support. These two fatty acids are essential in forming the skin’s natural lipid layer. And a compromised skin barrier can cause issues like dryness, rashes, breakouts and sun damage – which is why it is extremely important to nourish and protect the skin barrier, and avocado helps us do just that. It restores and repairs the skin, keeping it healthy and glowing.
5) Lessens appearance of spots
Thanks to its rich combination of vitamin k and antioxidant rich linoleic and oleic acids and its natural niacin – a form of vitamin B, it lessens hyperpigmentation and minimizes redness and blotchiness. It also minimizes pore appearance, making skin appear smoother.
So, how do I incorporate avocado in my skincare?
Well, the obvious choice is to include this nutrition powerhouse in your diet so your body can reap its many benefits. Next, you can look for it in your skincare – here are our favourite picks!

It also contains skincare hero rice water which soothes inflamed skin and restores skin elasticity. Rinse off with some lukewarm water and pat dry. Do this twice or thrice a week or whenever your skin needs some extra TLC.
2) Use it in a serum
After your face mask, your skin will need a boost of hydration. Give it some with the Bravocado Intense Brightening Serum.
